This Indigenous women-led gathering brought together young Indigenous women from across the Americas—land defenders, storytellers, advocates, and community leaders—for a powerful conversation about protecting territories and resisting harms from extractive industries.
The discussion explored the connections between land dispossession, extractive industries, gender-based violence, and the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP), while centering Indigenous-led approaches to sovereignty, cultural continuity, community safety, healing, and land stewardship.
Through intergenerational storytelling, reflection, and dialogue, participants considered how protecting and restoring relationships with the land are deeply connected to protecting Indigenous women, communities, and future generations.
