Earth Daughters is an Indigenous-led nonprofit organization that supports transnational Indigenous women and youth through mutual aid and climate justice initiatives.

OUR HISTORY
​

Earth Daughters began their collective work on June 23, 2020, when an earthquake of 7.5 magnitude struck the Sierra Sur region of Oaxaca, which is largely Indigenous territory.   To assist Indigenous communities in the aftermath of this earthquake, Earth Daughters launched their first mutual aid initiative. They successfully raised enough money to rebuild 200 homes in the region, providing crucial support to those affected. Since then, the collective has organized other mutual aid efforts to assist Indigenous communities following natural disasters and address climate change impacts. ​

Providing funds for rural Indigenous schools in Oaxaca to purchase furniture.​

OUR PILLARS

​The four pillars of our mission are mutual aid, climate justice, Indigenous leadership, and global advocacy.

​𓃮 Mutual aid: Mutual aid refers to collaborative support and assistance provided within the community to address shared needs and challenges.

𓃮 Climate justice: Climate justice advocates for equity solutions that respect Indigenous rights and sovereignty by addressing the disproportionate impacts of climate change on Indigenous communities.

𓃮 Indigenous leadership: Indigenous leadership means empowering Indigenous individuals, particularly women and youth, to take on leadership roles within their communities and advocate for their rights, cultures, and environmental stewardship.
